The word Athlitis is the Greek word for “athlete” and Athlitis the company is committed to excellence in sports competition and athletic performance. The company was started with a purpose to provide athletes in Connecticut with more venues and opportunities to showcase their athletic talents, by promoting athletic ambition and athletic competition throughout the state. Too often in Connecticut athletes are mostly confined to showcasing their skills and talent only during the season for which their sport competes, but if you travel around the country to regions of the country with warmer climates or regions where athletics in many cases is more apart of the social fabric of a particular state or region, like the south, Midwest or the West Coast, athletes are provided with many venues to showcase their talents to college coaches and recruiter. Athlitis is committed to changing that in the state of Connecticut.

Our goal is to provide young high school athletes in Connecticut with more venues and opportunities that will help to increase their profile with college coaches and recruiters early on in their high school careers and throughout. Athlitis is committed to actively engage and communicate with college coaches to make them aware and invite them to all of our scheduled events. So if you’re a young athlete looking to play sports at the next level and you want to get noticed earlier rather than later, then you need to participate in The Athlitis 7 on 7 Skill Play Match-up. This event will be the premier skill showcase sporting venue for high school football athletes from the ages of 14 – 18 years of age.

The 7 on 7 passing game is growing rapidly across the United States as an opportunity for skill-position football players to work on their football skills in the off season. Athlitis is leading the way in the state of Connecticut in providing the highest quality 7 on 7 events for high school football players. The 7 on 7 Skills Match-up provides high school football players the venue to continue enhancing their skills through the many repetitions available in a fast-paced passing game gaining valuable experience during the spring and summer. Athlitis follows a school-based system for all 7 on 7 teams which helps create better team chemistry between quarterbacks, receivers, and running backs and on the defensive side between the linebackers, cornerbacks, and safeties, better preparing them for their fall seasons. So we recommend team registration, because communication on the field improves play execution.

We recommend that freshman, JV and Varsity teams from the same high school programs compete. This is a great opportunity for younger athletes to compete against and learn from their older peers and for the older athletes to help develop the younger talent. So it's possible that some high schools may have two or three teams competing. Graduation class is not a factor here! Your endurance, skill, technique and teamwork will be tested with consistent repetition.

Teams from outside the state of Connecticut are welcomed to participate. This is an open Skills Match-up competition. Athletes should welcome the opportunity to showcase their talents against athletes outside their local areas.
